2010 Melburn Roobaix 3 Camera Shoot.mpg
Well what a great event, weather held off and a lot of fun was had in the alleyways and streets of inner Melbourne. This was the 5th Roubaix and over 400 riders came out on the second last day of Autumn. Event organiser fyxomatosis and there many sponsors did a great job in creating an event that had something for everyone. Cameras used were: Helmet Cam shots, Tachyon XC Micro. Rear view Camera, Olympus MJU740 in video mode. Stationary shots, Canon HV30 HD. Opening track: Bent Fabric Alley Cat. Riding Track: Urban Cookie Collective. @1985xl600r Unfortunately the Roobaix is extremely popular. Entries fill up quicker than a rock concert and this year 2011 the registration server crashed twice due to high traffic. On the third attempt registrations were opened at 12:00 noon and 4 hours later all available places were taken. Last year 400 registrations were accepted and this year places were increased significantly. I understand Black Sheep entries are available and they need to be emailed to Fyxomatosis.
@vermontcreekbed ah, im actually in melbourne, i havent updated my profile and youtube just presumes everyone is in USA. is there likely to be more entry spaces open? i actually want to enter a team of 5 representing an australian bicycle manufacturer
the fyxomatosis website doesnt have the links to enter anywhere obvious
@1985xl600r At present the 2011 ride is booked out but in your case if you can prove that you are willing to travel from the USA to attend this event Downunder I am sure you could get a start. For more info check Fyxomatosisdotcom
Cheers, Jack.
nice vid, just wondering how do we enter for the 2011 event?
Nice video, brings back great memories!
@dildog Hey I didn’t have a spare tube, And after that little run, I felt like I had cheated the system a little. From that point on, I did every single hill climb cobble or non cobble. Man that was a fun day!
@dildog Actually it is the same guy just caught in the helmet and seat cam. I was determined to get the edit out on Sunday night and it is not as slick as I hoped but I think it captures the day reasonably well.
Thanks for making the comment.
Great event! I feel sorry for the folks you caught “walking” their bikes through that off-road section next to the Yarra.. how embarrassing!
