Don’t put it off. It is an excellent watch worked awesome througha 10 mile trail race through the back country snow, overflowing creeks under tree canopy the whole time. Perfect GPS watch
It is water resistant, not waterproof
Nope. Its GPS all the way
ronarts2005… you need the foot pod if you want to run indoors, on a treadmill, or I suppose if you run through forests the canopy could be so thick it could block the gps signal?
I just bought one of these. Man is sure is hard to run with that giant antenna sticking out of my ass.
guys… please let me know just this.. if i use the 405 or the 405cx.. do i need to get the foot pod?
The 405CX is already out. I’ve read elsewhere that the 405’s have the same problem of not working well when sweaty. Also that there is poor GPS signal at times in the obvious areas but that the 405CX doesn’t have these problems. Anyone know if that’s true as I’m thinking of getting one but being put off the 405 because of what I’ve read.
I’m confused… i’m new to this kinda GPS devices and i’m interested in using this. I used some other device which didn’t work when i got sweaty. Crap.. hate it.. But with this, is it water resistant? Do i need a foot pod if i wanna run outside all the time. In the gym, i really don’t need that, for i have the t.mill to let me know the time, pace, speed. so besides it recording the distance do i need to get a foot pod? Any suggestion guys? Do i get this model or do I wait for the 405CX?
don’t get it wet it will not work.if you sweat alot you will get pissed off.
This product is amazing! none of that foot pod rubbish, just wear one all doing watch, NOTHING is better than this!!
Yes – i believe the virtual partner is a new addition.
ive got a polar rs800sd
well my 905 > your 605
No, The GPS is built in the Watch.
do u need a footpod to get your speed during your run?
does the 405 do anything better than the 305 other than look good?
Me too , i too love these things Gshocks, Pathfinders Gps Devices. MMMM let me think i hardly run. Or i don’t run at all !
this will definitely get me back to running.
i have 605
Nice to see Garmin is taking care of existing customers by making the new version compatable with the accessories that are already out there.
I really like the backtrack feature for those of us that go exploring on runs. My old Forerunner has saved me twice in cold weather. Time to upgrade!
i mean 305…
looks awesome, don’t have a 405 yet so i’ll probably look into this!
I wonder if the 405 will make me feel better about myself not running but having a running watch
thats pretty sweet, i have a 305
