If you are trying to discover the best source for information about discontinued Garmin GPS units, the answer is very simple. Go to the Garmin website and Garmin will tell you all the current GPS units and all the discontinued ones. You just have to know where to look and this article will help you find it.

The Garmin website is a very good one and it quite intuitive which makes it very easy to navigate. It contains information about all types of GPS units. You can apply the knowledge you learn about automotive GPS in this article to all other types of GPS from Garmin.

Follow along with the instructions in this article to learn how to find out if Garmin has discontinued the GPS you are interested in.

For the sake of an example, let’s look for all the discontinued Garmin automotive GPS units. Start by going to the Garmin website home page and look for the “On the Road Link”. This link will be in the upper left of the screen.

Float your cursor over the “On the Road” link. This will drop down a menu with the “Automotive” link at the top. Clicking on this link will list all the current Garmin automotive GPS units.

Now, to locate all the discontinued automotive GPS, look in the gray navigation box on the left side of the screen. At the bottom of the links, you will see the “Discontinued” link.

Clicking on the “Discontinued” link will load a page that displays all the discontinued Garmin automotive GPS units. Scroll down this page to see all the discontinued units.

Just because a GPS has been discontinued does not mean that you should not consider buying it. Some very good buys are made after Garmin discontinues production on a GPS and the merchants lower the prices to clear out the inventory of the discontinued GPS.
