For those looking to buy a small gps navigator but with good accuracy and great affordability then the i5 StreetPilot is definitely worth a buy. The small but effective navigational device is manufactured by the Garmin Company, a company which is a pioneer of sorts when it comes to tracking and navigational products. This new addition to the Garmin family may be small but it certainly packs a punch with its features. This particular series is made for first time gps users and offers a simple and effective interface for a reasonable price.

Features such as voice capabilities such as speech recognition are absent in this but the built in speaker at the back packs a whole load of bang when providing step by step instructions to your requested destination. Of course as with all advanced Garmin navigating products, this small one also allows you to mark all your preferred interest point like the restaurants, movie theatres, clubs and pubs for those who want to find your entertainment and not lose it again. Safety zones like schools, gas stations, fire departments and police departments are also present with the built in maps and whatever is absent can be easily added!

The i5 comes with already loaded maps and directions but you can definitely add more data as the i5 Street Pilot accepts a micro SD card. It allows for re-routing in case you get stuck in an unwanted traffic jam, it shows in clear 3D imaging on its 1.5 by 1.7 inch color screen and tells you loudly too which direction to head to for the fastest arrival. But before you reach the point of being stuck in traffic why not avoid altogether the jams that come from school zones and various other safety and heavy traffic prone zones by using a handy feature called proximity alert. You can set alarms that give you a heads up when you near these locations and avoid them altogether.

At 150 grams, it takes only 2 AA batteries lasting to about 6 hours or use the adaptor that is included with purchase. It comes with a vehicle power cable and a USB cable that allows easy connectivity. A new feature to the series is a scroll wheel that allows for easy navigation through its already user friendly interface. The screen shows very clear imaging in all lighting conditions and is very easy to read and understand.

So after examining a small looking product and finding that it meets and exceeds any first time navigator’s standards one definitely can’t hesitate in buying the i5 StreetPilot from Garmin.
