Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx Review Uncovers Truth?
This is my Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx review and it will detail what many people have been saying about this unit including the good and the bad. This article will also give you valuable information at the end on where to buy the Garmin GPS 60CSx at a very good price.
As you know, the Garmin GPS 60CSx is an improvement on the 60CS which means you will get additional functions, which will make it a lot better. However, along with upgrades there are also certain features that has been left out. When upgrading from the 60CS to the 60CSx you’ll notice that you won’t have the alarm clock and the passive Barometric tracking, also, the new 60CSx won’t have the a sleep mode so which means these two things won’t work if you turn off the unit. Luckily most people would say that this is not much of a big deal as hardly anyone would use these two functions anyways, although some people still take issue with the lack of these two features.
One of biggest advantages you’ll get which I’ll mention in this Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx review is the enhanced speed and positioning. with the most noticeable upgrade from the 60CS is the newly developed SiRF II Chipset. There is no doubt that positioning is very sensitive and it’s super fast when it comes to responding to your every movement and location. This is because the SiRF chipset is one of the best chipsets you can get. With this unit you won’t lose reception even in tricky situations such as when you’re under tree cover or in canyons, you can even keep it in your backpack and it will still record your positions.
Another thing that’s worth mentioning is that this one has a removable Mini SD Card and you can add data and access the card when hooking it up to MapSource. However, a small percentage of people would complain that there is no way to view information about the memory card using the unit itself, such as how many storage space you have left and file listings but most times there’s no point in doing so when you can’t add data by itself anyways.
So in this Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx Review I’ve mention some of the bad points and also some of the features that makes this unit a definitely must have GPS for anyone. If you’re upgrading from the 60CS you need to weigh out your decisions on whether you want increased reception or not. If you’re not upgrading from the 60CS then you’d absolutely love this one for sure.
