avweb’s Liz Swaine demos the Garmin gpsmap 696’s incredible ability to manage charts and approach plates. Stuff those paper charts back in the folder and watch as we demonstrate the 696’s capabilities as an electronic flight bag.

does it have a usb plug? so you can update approach plates, will it ever update scenery?, does it run off aircraft power or bateries? can u scroll over airspaces and it will tell you the type and altitudes of that particular airspace, can you plan a flight on the computer and upload it to the garmin or must all the waypoints etc be put in individually? is the panel reliable or off? and finally is there a newer one coming soon that maybe better? thank you!
Now that’s absolutely amazing, I need to get one of these. Unfortunately… the price tag is steep.
X-mas coming soon, yahoo!!!
