Garmin Nuvi 1300 Review
The Garmin Nuvi 1300 is a splendid GPS device weighing in at just over 161 grams. The Nuvi 1300 is perfect for all types of travel excursions, whether walking or driving. The device is not however, waterproof, and is not considered motorcycle, trucking, or marine friendly. The dimensions of the Nuvi 1300 are nicely sized making the device convenient due to its compact measurements.

What is Included?
The Garmin Nuvi 1300 comes straight out of the box fully operational. The device has several maps already loaded onto it in including European, Canadian, Hawaiian, Puerto Rican, and North American maps, as well as City Navigator®. The Garmin Nuvi 1300 can be positioned on the dashboard or windshield depending upon preference, and a disc and windshield mount are included with the system’s initial packaging.
With the Garmin Nuvi 1300 the consumer gets a wide, touch screen display with WQVGA color TFT, a 480 pixel by 272 pixel screen display, and the display is fixed with a backlight that is white. Included with the device is a lithium-ion battery with a four hour battery life and recharging capabilities. Embedded into the Nuvi 1300 the consumer will find a highly sensitive receiver, and an internal solid state built in memory. This device offers up 1000 favorites and is compatible with a microSD(TM) card that must be bought separately.
Capabilities:
Like many of the GPS devices manufactured by Garmin, the Garmin Nuvi 1300 is equipped with voice prompt features that announce the distance between the vehicle and upcoming turns. Vocal instructions are supplied to the user of the Nuvi 1300 through an embedded, unobtrusive speaker fixed in the GPS system. This system is fully capable of audibly expressing the names of upcoming streets as well as audibly conveying instructions about necessary turns and driving maneuvers.
With the Nuvi 1300, a driver can make every trip a breeze. Auto route planning, Auto re-routing, a selection of routes to choose from and ecoRoute(TM) features ensure every trip is efficient and quick. Route avoidance information helps the driver avert unnecessary toll fees or highways so the consumer plans out the road trip based upon his or her personal preferences.
In addition to the fine route planning features offered in the Garmin Nuvi 1300, consumers get access to Where Am I?(TM) features making it possible to find nearby hotspots, important locations, and emergency areas. The Nuvi 1300 is also outfitted with a whole host of Garmin-only features like Garmin Garage(TM) icons and custom voices, and Garmin Lock(TM) anti-theft features too.
This GPS system possesses an ABC/QWERTY keyboard, photo navigation features, and custom points of interest can be loaded onto it. The Nuvi 1300 is fully compatible with FM traffic and MSN Direct®, has a world clock and converter features, and a calculator for convenience.
