The free FM lifetime traffic information lets you avoid traffic delays by identifying delays and providing a detour around them.

A new feature to help you save gas is ecoRoute. This feature calculates the most fuel the most fuel-efficient route, tracks fuel usage and more.

Photo navigation allows you to download pictures from Garmin Connect(TM) Photos and navigate to them.

The “Where Am I?” emergency locator lets you always know your location and easily get emergency information consisting of the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and gas stations.

The 1490T includes many of the standard travel tools that are expected in a Garmin Nuvi:
