it sucks newer garmin now ditch the audio out to connect to your car speaker. Speakers through the stand alone garmin speaker is never loud enough.

Many people say that they have trouble when they download and install update firmware to their Garmin GPS. The device then either stops functioning or acts weird
@canoeshoe Map updates from what I’ve seen can be purchased one at a time for a fee or you can pay a lifetime fee that coveres map updates for the life the device. Firmware upates are free…
are map updates free? or only firmware updates are free?
One thing I might add is that I believe that the unit uses ATT’s EDGE network to retrieve data from Google, etc. I just purchased one of these units so I’m not entirely sure yet, but once I get it I will confirm if it’s ATT (my assumption) or possibly T-Mobile providing the data.
Can you not plug the power cable into the mounting unit?
Actually, you are incorrect when you said the vehicle power adapter connects to the unit. The vehicle power adapter connects to the mount.
