thank you… I bought one yesterday… the least to say is WoW… Excellent gadget… and the pronunciation of street names is very human-like..
detailed maps though.. as you said.. VERY detailed.

I read all the reviews and it seems most people like this 255W so i purchased and out of the box was fine BUT THEN I decided to upload Garmin maps 2010 Europe this is a MISTAKE as now the GPS WILL NOT FIIND a Satalite signal
Garmin is in Kansas, so its default is Kansas until it find your location.

Does the Nüvi 255 realy have the text-to-speech function? I have got the German version of the nüvi (with maps of 40 european countries). The German voice does not speak street names.
