Garmin Nuvi 255W Review
If you have been thinking about global positioning systems devices, there are an awful lot of them out there right now. The problem is how to decide what to get and when to get it. Those decisions should really relate to your driving needs. In this article I’m going to give you a quick review on the very popular Garmin nüvi 255W Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator.
The Garmin nüvi 255W Widescreen is a 4.3 inch navigator with voice prompted turn-by-turn directions. This unit is compact, weighing in at only 1.2 pounds. Like its other cousins this Garmin has a slim design and comes loaded with quite a few advanced features.
What I have taken for granted lately is Garmin’s slavish attention to detail. Not only do they pack a lot of useful features into their products but they make it a philosophy to take otherwise complex functions and make them user-friendly.
For some people, customization may be trivial; my wife is a business traveler and finds that feature essential. If you’re going to be practically living with this thing, you might as well make it your own. Garmin’s nüvi line allows the expert user to make the changes that fits their own unique requirements.
One of the key features I use regularly is the computer connectivity. You can send addresses directly from either Google maps or MapQuest using this device. As a Google maps user, I like the fact that you can hook up the Garmin to your computer through its USB port, search for any location that you want, click the send link in the info window for the address and I’ll bring up a pop-up send to form all you goaded viewers pick GPS then pick Garman and hit the send button. You’ll get an instant transfer to your Garmin device it will save the point as one of your favorites and you can need to navigate to it review it on a map.
What they are saying about the Garmin nüvi 255W Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator
“I’ve only had this device a short time but so far delighted with. I use the map feature when I don’t need directions; which makes it easier to identify streets.”
The Garmin’s 4.3 inch widescreen format and advanced satellite calculation technology works together to get you where you want to go more efficiently; it’s definitely a good buy.
