How to Adapt / Mount A Car GPS to a Motorcycle

Here’s how I used my existing Garmin car GPS for a quick, cheap, temporary, & occasional solution. You’ll lose a mirror, can’t hear audible commands, and it requires running off batteries, so it’s not for eveyrone. A motorcycle GPS would be ideal.

dude your a genius
I have made a few homemade mounts but never really though to using the mirrors. Good idea.
water proof?
i like this mod =D
Very imaginative. I was thinking of mounting one in my right mirror and putting a camera on the back of the bike with a display in my left mirror. Your way with the Velcro would be easier and less permanent. That way if I parked somewhere shady I could pull it all off.
@MsTimberland I used it when I put my bike on a barge and shipped it to another island I wasn’t familiar with.
Hey, very useful velcro is a great invention.
awsome yo

because you are supposed to turn your head and look over your shoulder.
and that goes for cars too. many people never check their blind spot. just glance at the mirror and start moving over. and those are the people that cause accidents to everytone around them, especially motorcyclists.
Sooo if i was going to take a 4 hour trip, is there a way to plug it in while it is mounted?
ok first of all who rides their bike far enough to need a gps?
@1RiskyRich — It may cost an arm and a leg (literally) since you have obstructed your view. Safety is a cheap and effective insurance policy.~ Peace
jajajajajajajajajaja…..a la mexicana!!!
@lipevolcom2 – An arm and a leg means different amounts depending on your financial status. $25 could be an arm and a leg for someone who has nothing. Normally I would say an arm and a leg is usually more money than its worth.
@UpcomingJedi lol nice reply
USE A BLUE TOOTH HEADSET
this is not smart..
@UpcomingJedi You’re a Jedi, you should know. Aren’t you guys capable of seeing what’s behind you anyways? You guys dodge gunshots all the time. What’s the big deal dodging drivers? What the hell are you complaining about?
here in Brazil we say that LEG or COCK . cock is like 50 bucks and leg is 100 bucks how much is a ARM and LEG in US???
Now that you covered the left mirror (most important one), just how do you see that idiot that REALLY wants to pass without changing lanes and push you off the road?
easier way is to epoxy a mount to the windshield, and attatch it from there, this way u can run a wire to charge it, better to have a smoked windshield or the epoxy will show, cheaper and easier than replacing a side mirror and its immune to the wind pressure that some rear view mirrors cant handle
Ghetto!!!!!
what a stupid idea!
very nice
this is cool and fast fix but i would need both mirrors for long trip, sat nav needs charging form time to time so this caould be a problem in your version.i have garmin nav on my nokia 5800,using phone holder ziped with ties to handlebar, ran nokia car charger as close as possible, now changed bike for zzr1400 and handlebars are different so looking for some custom holder fited in to hole in the middle of handlebars
