ATT means “Attenuate” not Attention! But good vid, I plan on getting this HU
Nice review.
why does it take forever?
@cityandlights2011 – Sure, it should be plug and play. In the rear of DNX6960 are the standard RCA connectors to go to the amplifier(s). I am assuming your current sound system is aftermarket.
I’m thinking about getting a kenwood touch screen navigation this summer or spring, but i dont want to change my sound system because it’s beast, so can i just hook up my sound system to the Kendwood, without buying a brand new sound system?
Thanks!
Please respond
@thetruedarknight – The Voice feature is only for the bluetooth (AFAIK). For the contacts, you can tag them with your own voice recording. The unit uses it to recognize the contact and display the phone number.
Hey man, thanks for the video, really helpful. I am really considering getting this unit. I have a JVC now but one problem I have is finding songs on my usb…it just takes too long navigating thru the menus. I saw somewhere this has voice command. Can you please demo that or let me know how well that works with music from a usb drive. I’ll really appreciate that. Thanks.
@fixitmekanik412 – Panasonic Lumix ZS3. It was recorded at 720p in H.264 format.
I would like to know what camera are you using for your youtube videos. Your videos are nice and clear. Thanks
@Moroccan4lifeone – It is a standard double DIN unit. Check if your car can take double DIN on crutchfield or amazon.
how do u know this unit will actually fit in ur car radio slot?
@usbseawolf2000 We have tried the place that installed which is a national brand name can’t even get it to upload the stuff. We hooked up to the internet. It is just annoying the other gps systems can find this stuff but this one can not… It only cost me 1400 to buy it and install it all I get back is the product cost… Not happy… When Garmin and Kenwood can’t help fix the issue what can I say, besides a wast of money…
@derdawa – You can upload custom POI. You can even upgrade to the latest map with POI. There is no official upgrade offered by Kenwood so you’ll have to search around. There is a mini USB port in the back that works just like portable Garmin Navs. Search for Kenwoodforums dotcom for more info.
The unit maybe perfect but the Navigation is horrible. I purchased this and with in a week I have found 4 schools not listed that have been sitting in the same spot for 10 to over 35 years. I could not even find the schools by entering the exact address. Due to this I am not even able to make them a POI and upload it. I travel to different public schools and this is bad…
PRIUS FTW
@Thegarmendia – If the Bluetooth does not connect automatically, I can browse through the menu to have it connected. Some annoyance but only sometimes. The Nav gave me black screen a few times. When that happened everything else worked fine. I think Garmin Nav has it’s own processor.
Overall, I think it is a solid unit but it has some bugs. Kenwood has not come out with a new firmware but Garmin had one (just the Nav portion).
@Thegarmendia – I highly recommend this model. It sounds so awesome since it is an eXcelon. I think it is a better deal than DNX6160.
Overall, I would say it is very reliable. It grabs the GPS signal very quick and it is very accurately. I am still very happy with this purchase.
I use the iPod cable to connect my iPhone4 and it is clicks to lock the cable in securely. I never had issue with the connection hardware or software wise. Sometimes iPhone4 Bluetooth does not connect automatically.
Sir you have made a great point on another comment. We all know no Navi is perfect. But would you recommend this model? Here are the things I look for in a Navi. First off I absolutely love the Garmin interface, so thats a plus with this unit. I also want reliability this unit will be placed in my daily driver car. I also want excellent Blue tooth quality, and stable usb/iPod/ connectivity. I don’t want a unit that often looses connection with your audio devices. How would you rate this unit?
@X1lunytunes – No unit is perfect and there are pluses and minuses with all the units. It really depends on what is important to you. On PriusChat, there are owners switching from Pioneer and JVC to Kenwood units and they are happier with it.
@usbseawolf2000 ……if you had a choice to go with the pioneer X920bt or this what would you go with??? whats better??
This video was great thank you so much now I can make a decision if I m going to buy it
Thanks for making this video. It helped me decide on this unit.
Very helpful video!
@irod12313 – Check out the screenshots I posted on Priuschat, taken in bright sunlight outside.
@irod12313 – Yes, I have no issue with the screen with the sun light. I don’t even have the brightness all the way up. Check out the screenshots taken in bright sunlight outside.
does the screen still look nice and bright when bright sun hits it?
